Books are only human
When it comes to literature, I try to read with attention as much as I can. Most of the time it makes for a more satisfyingly experience, but once in a while it causes you to notice inconsistencies, contradictions and blemishes of style.
More often than not, this makes me anxious. I am not yet a grown-up reader. I am like a child, and books are like my parents. As far as I am concerned, books should be perfectly omnipotent. Their human fallibility is something I don’t want to accept.
